1st layer sewn down

Rather late for the Friday night sew in report. I was also sewing a little on slow Sunday sewing. This rotten head cold is reluctant to leave. I have spent time clearing up my sewing room, not finding the silk ribbon I was looking for but finding other mislaid things.
I have now sewn the lower layer of stems and leaves to the block and hopefully I'll get the next layer pinned down before tea preparation.
The weather is a bit cooler and overcast, I don't even feel like my daily walk.    So a couple of paracetamol and on with the pinning.

Slow stitching Sunday

After spending the morning washing bedding and tidying my sewing room I have finally found time to start sewing the North Carolina block from the thirteen colonies quilt. All the prep is done.
It looks a bit washed out due to the dull weather we have and my lousy photography.
Happy sewing where ever you are.

1st Wreath finished

I finished this Sunday evening, instead of ironing. Only 11 more wreaths to go. I've started prepping the leaves for the first individual block, Grain Stalks.
Sorry it's blurred, I can see now that I will find it hard to make each wreath block exactly the same. Oh well, nature is not always symmetrical.

FNWF results

I had a lovely time sewing with everyone. I hope to finish this block today whilst watching old films on DVD. I've also listened to a few audio books and the radio.
Now to visit some more blogs. Happy sewing.

FNWF

Well it's Friday night and I'm sewing leaves on the wreath.
Oops rather out of focus and at an odd angle. will try again Saturday morning in daylight. I'll keep sewing leaves on, then I'll check out what everyone else is doing. Happy sewing.

Applique beginning

At last time to do some hand sewing, whilst waiting for a delivery. I bought the Thirteen Colonies Album quilt kit from ebay, the seller had only sewn two blocks, everything was there to finish it. I started by doing the hand applique course on craftsy with Mimi Dietrich, as I was a complete beginner. I found this class to be brilliant, as she makes it so easy.
Anyway I've started on the album quilt blocks, this is one of the repeated blocks. Colonial wreath.
I've prepped all the pieces and hope to get the flowers completed this week, then the twenty leaves.
There are more posts to come of things I've sewn this summer but I'll have to photograph them. Most of the time has been taken up with grand children and gardening. The allotment has been very productive and I really need to invest in another freezer.
